  • EMDR is an evidence-based approach designed to help people heal from distressing or traumatic experiences. EMDR helps the brain reprocess difficult memories so they no longer feel as overwhelming or emotionally charged. During sessions, the therapist guides the client through sets of bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, tapping, or sounds, while focusing on specific memories or thoughts. Over time, this process helps reduce emotional distress, build healthier beliefs about oneself, and promote lasting relief from symptoms related to trauma, anxiety, or other life challenges.

  • Trauma Informed Care is an approach that recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and emphasizes safety, trust, and empowerment in the healing process. It focuses on understanding how past experiences may influence a person’s current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In a trauma-informed setting, the therapist creates a supportive environment centered on choice, collaboration, and compassion. The ultimate goal is to help clients regain a sense of control and build resilience while addressing their mental health needs.
